2007 Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show- Spencer 43 Express with Volvo IPS Drives

While working this year's Fort Lauderdale Boat Show our staff sea trialed the Spencer 43 Express, Meant 2 Be, powered with the new Volvo IPS drives with one of our clients. With a year of buzz surrounding this boat, we had high expectations and the boat did not dissappoint us.  We currently have a client building a custom 40 foot express featuring this power system and to say it was impressive would be an understatement.  Whether docking, backing down, maneuvering, running or simply holding position in a nasty cross current, the system performed excellent.  An additional bonus was the roomy stateroom aft of the salon featuring 43" side-by-side berths.  Layout, fit and finish was the quality you'd expect from a Paul Spencer custom.  Note the engine position (center photo) and Joystick contoller (right photo).

New Caison 40 Express Under Construction

One of our clients currently has the first Caison 40 Express under construction and due to be completed by late Summer 2008.  This boat, like the Spencer 43 (above), will feature the new Volvo IPS drive systemDonny Caison has been building exceptional custom sport fish yachts for the past 5 years and was recently reviewed by Peter Wright of Marlin Magazine on the construction of his popular Caison 55 (August 10, 2007 article).  After considering and sea trialing a number of both production and custom builders, this client decided upon Caison to build his yacht.  The hull was recently turned with the tradional cookout.  Deck and drive installation are well underway now.
